Understanding the dynamics between human activities and nature, particularly amphibians, has been my passion for years. For my M.Sc. (University of Amsterdam), I assessed the impact produced by the introduction of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) on amphibian communities in areas close to the Páramos of the Colombian Andes, one of the most diverse and endangered high mountain ecosystems in the world.
For my Ph.D., I will continue to research the impacts of introduced species and other stressors (pathogens) on amphibian communities. I am also interested in the responses (i.e. hatching plasticity) of species to environmental stressors in high elevation streams and aquatic ecosystems.
