It is official: We are moving to Corvallis, Oregon. We don't have an exact timeline yet, but we expect to move in late August or early September. Ted took an assistant (tenure-track) professor job at Oregon State University. Corvallis is really beautiful; it was so green and lush when we were there. There are about 60,000 people living there, and the university and Hewlett-Packard are the major employers. It has a beautiful and thriving little downtown, with lots of great restaurants, shops and green space. There are many trails through town and lots of outdoor activities. I think we will be very happy living there. It is consistantly rated as one of the top ten places to live in the country, so I guess we would be crazy not to like it!
And more official news: Christy is officially a lawyer in the state of Minnesota. I was sworn in to the state bar on May 12. I also took part in my law school's graduation ceremony on May 13. We had a very nice day. My mom and Ted's parents came from Devils Lake, and our good friends Barb and Alan also shared in the festivities. And now the fun part--I get to take the bar exam all over again in Oregon to be admitted to the bar there. I will have to wait until next July to take it again, what fun.
Anders is a busy 13 month old now. Margie (Ted's mom) stayed with us in Minneapolis this week and got some quality time with Anders while Ted and I did some house projects. He is as fun and cute as ever, not saying words yet really, but he repeats sounds now. We have a fun game saying "uh-oh."
