What Interns do at this Site: The intern will assist a county appointed
Homeless Liaison with various tasks including: enrolling homeless students
and families in the program, case management of clients, interact and work
with community agencies on behalf of clients, work with school staff, and
assist clients with basic needs.

Valley Senior Services Agency Family Caregiver Support Program
Target Population: Non-paid caregivers (family and friends) who are
taking care of seniors age 60 or older; Grandparent or other relative, over
60, who is caring for a child 18 years or younger

about agency and community services, assistance with gaining access to services,

COSTA RICA: Centro de Educacion Creativa (CEC) http://ie3global.oregonstate.edu/costa5.html
The CEC is an environmentally oriented bilingual elementary school serving rural children from preschool to eighth grade. Interns teach students grade Kinder through 8 and present workshops. Curriculum is environmentally focused and creative. Language requirement: English for internship, however 2nd year Spanish helps for daily life

CEPCU is a non-profit organization
serving the interests of indigenous peoples in Imbabura and the Kichwa community
in and around Otavalo, Ecuador. The main project activities of CEPCU include
resource management and protection, including micro-watershed management;
micro-finance and Fair Trade marketing of locally produced goods; community
strengthening; and cultural preservation.

Hogar de los Angeles is a not-for profit foundation serving families that would otherwise not be able to afford daycare for their babies and young children (6 months to 5 years). The interns will be directly involved in the education and care of the children, under the supervision of a qualified pre-school teacher. Language requirement: Spanish equivalent to at least 3 years university study.
MEXICO: MESE Street Children

MESE is private Mexican non-profit social service organization currently working
with nearly 300 destitute children and adolescents on the streets of Morelia.
MESE provides various support and counseling services to help these children
re-integrate into their families, communities and schools. MESE is staffed
by 5 social workers, 3 program/administrative staff, 2 coordinators and 1
physician. Language requirement: Three years of university level Spanish.
