125 TOEFL Preparation 1, Spring 1998 Syllabus

The table below indicates our tentative schedule for using the textbook. We may need to change the schedule as the term progresses. All references are to the Longman Introductory Course for the TOEFL Test . To get maximum benefit from your time in class, do your homework before class. For each class, I will tell you which assignments to do at home before class and which assignments we will do in class. Unless you like being bored, do not do the pre-, post-, or practice tests at home; we will do them in class. There are other practice tests available in the ELI Learning Center (Education Hall 406). Open hours for the Learning Center will be announced.

We will listen to tapes for Section 1 during class time. The tapes and the User's Guide (which contains the answer key and tapescript) for this book, and other TOEFL materials are also available in the ELI Learning Center.
