Essay and Workbook Assignments

As the course description indicated, you are required to write three essays, and for each one you must write at least two drafts and peer review a classmate's essay. Below are your topic choices for each of the three essays. Please remember that you should try to include the targeted grammar structures in each essay. Thus in essay #1, you should try to include some Part V structures - adverb clauses (unit 12); negative adverbials and adverbials of viewpoint and focus (unit 13); discourse connectors (unit 14); and adverbial modifying phrases (unit 15). In essay #2, try to include Part VI structures - adjective clauses (unit 16); adjective clauses with quantifiers and adjectival modifying phrases (unit 17). In essay #3, try to include Part VII structures - noun subject and object clauses (unit 18) and complementation (unit 19.). There is no Part VIII essay required.
