Hao Zhang, Ph.D. Candidate (2012-present)
Hao is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. He is from Shangqui (Henan province), China and received his B.S. in IE (2009), and M.S. in IE (2012) from Oregon State. His current research focuses on investigating novel modeling approaches of sustainable manufacturing systems and decision support for enterprises. Other research interests include process sustainability optimization, social impact assessment of manufacturing systems, systems thinking, and engineering ethics.

Babak Lajevardi, Ph.D. Student (2012-present)
Babak is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. He received his M.S. IE (2012) from Oregon State focusing on laser welding for microdevice manufacturing. His research is investigating cost modeling for microdevice manufacturing.

Amin Mirkouei, Ph.D. Student (2013-present)
Amin Mirkouei is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. He is from Tehran, Iran and received his B.S. in IE (2009) and M.S. in IE (2011) from the University of Tehran. His current research focuses on optimal and sustainable feedstock supply chains for biomass processing. Other research interests include Supply Chain Management, Modeling and Analysis of Manufacturing Systems, and Operations Management.

Clint is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). He is from Oregon City, oR. His research focuses on sustainability assessment of component manufacturing and assembly processes.

Qi is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). She grew up in Wuhan (Hubei province), China and received her B.S. in Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation (2010) from Jiang Han University. Her research focuses on couple environmental and economic assessment of microdevice manufacturing.

Natalie Traut, Diploma Student (Winter-Spring 2012)
Natalie received her Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany (2012). Her diploma thesis research focused on
remanufacturing of wave energy generators, and was conducted within the Industrial Sustainability Laboratory.

Gorka Rodrigo Asensio (Oct. 2010 - April 2011)
As a research intern, Gorka assisted in performing life cycle assessment of a hypothetical wind park using publicly available data from the Bonneville Power Administration. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.

Babak Lajevardi (Spring 2010)
Babak assisted in preliminary research of manufacturing systems optimization on the basis of economic and environmental factors. He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in Tehran (1999), an MBA from Royal Roads University in Canada (2007), and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering-Engineering Management from California State University (2009) and Oregon State (2012). He is now pursuing his Ph.D. at Oregon State.

Albert attends Corvallis High School. He completed a summer internship through the Saturday Academy Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering Internship program. During his internship, he conducted data collection for environmental analysis of product manufacturing.

Mim received an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (September 2012). She is from Bangkok, Thailand. Her research focused on assessing the environmental performance of supplemental energy technologies for a wind park application.

Dane received an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (March 2012). He is from Etna, California and received his B.S. in Materials Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (2007). His research focused on improving sustainability assessment methods for product designers.

Ahmed completed an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (March 2012). He grew up in Bahrain and received his B.S. in Electrical and Wireless Engineering from Auburn University (2009). His research focused on reducing the coupled manufacturing process and supply chain-related energy use and carbon emissions during product design.

Misha received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in September 2011. He grew up near Salem, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009). His research focused on assessing the machining performance and ecotoxilogical aspects of nanofluids in metal cutting operations.

Malcolm is received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in June 2011. His research investigated economic and environmental performance of microlaminated devices utilizing nickel nanoparticle diffusion brazing as compared with other processes. He grew up in Foster, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009).

Mary Beth Vanlue, Honors B.S. (Boeing)
Mary Beth received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State in December 2010. Her honors thesis developed a method for service-oriented organizations to measure and improve their sustainability. Her research was based on a survey of nonprofit organizations and a project with a local nonprofit.
