Nima is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2015) and an M.Sc. in Statistics (exp. 2013). He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received his M.Sc. in Socio-economic Systems from Amirkabir University of Technology (2008). His research interests are in the use of life cycle assessment during the initial
stages of design.

Natalie is pursuing her Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany (exp. 2012). Her diploma thesis research focuses on
remanufacturing of wave energy generators, and is being conducted at Oregon State University.

Gorka Rodrigo Asensio (Oct. 2010 - April 2011)
As a research intern, Gorka assisted in performing life cycle assessment of a hypothetical wind park using publicly available data from the Bonneville Power Administration. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, where he is an M.S. student in Industrial Engineering..

Babak Lajevardi (Spring 2010)
Babak assisted in preliminary research of manufacturing systems optimization on the basis of economic and environmental factors. He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in Tehran (1999), an MBA from Royal Roads University in Canada (2007), and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering-Engineering Management from California State University (2009). Babak has research interests in manufacturing process modeling for efficiency, Earned Value Analysis Method (EVAM) in project portfolio management, and system simulation, analysis, and optimization. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at Oregon State in microfluidic device manufacturing (advisor: Dr. B.K. Paul).

Ahmed completed an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (March 2012). He grew up in Bahrain and received his B.S. in Electrical and Wireless Engineering from Auburn University (2009). His research focused on reducing the coupled manufacturing process and supply chain-related energy use and carbon emissions during product design.

Misha received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in September 2011. He grew up near Salem, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009). His research focused on assessing the machining performance and ecotoxilogical aspects of nanofluids in metal cutting operations.

Malcolm Brown (now at Intel)
Malcolm is received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in June 2011. His research investigated economic and environmental performance of microlaminated devices utilizing nickel nanoparticle diffusion brazing as compared with other processes. He grew up in Foster, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009).

Mary Beth Vanlue (now at Boeing)
Mary Beth received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State in December 2010. Her honors thesis developed a method for service-oriented organizations to measure and improve their sustainability. Her research was based on a survey of nonprofit organizations and a project with a local nonprofit.
