Current Graduate Students

	Hao Zhang, M.S. Student (2009-present) Hao is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2012). He is from Shangqui (Henan province), China and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering (2009). His research is focused on decision support of sustainable manufacturing.
	Preedanood (Mim) Prempreeda, M.S. Student (2011-present) Mim is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2012). She is from Bangkok, Thailand. Her research focuses on assessing the environmental performance of supplemental energy technologies.
	Walter (Clint) Clow, M.S. Student (2011-present) Clint is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). He is from Oregon City, oR. His research focuses on sustainability assessment of component manufacturing and assembly processes.
	Qi Gao, M.S. Student (2011-present) Qi is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). She grew up in Wuhan (Hubei province), China and received her B.S. in Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation (2010) from Jiang Han University. Her research focuses on couple environmental and economic assessment of microdevice manufacturing.
	Nima Dolatnia, Ph.D. Student (2011-present) Nima is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2015) and an M.Sc. in Statistics (exp. 2013). He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received his M.Sc. in Socio-economic Systems from Amirkabir University of Technology (2008). His research interests are in the use of life cycle assessment during the initial stages of design.
	Seyedhamed Seyedmahmoudi, M.S. Student (2012-present) Hamed is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tehran (2011). His research interests are in sustainable design and manufacturing.
	Pantea Mirzaie, M.S. Student (2012-present) Pantea is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). She grew up in Tehran, Iran and received her B.S. in Insurance Management from the Allameh Tabatabaee University ECO College of Insurance (2009). Her research focuses on environmental and economic assessment of macro and micro renewable energy systems.
	Faraz Niyaghi, M.S. Student (2012-present) Faraz is pursuing an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (exp. 2013). He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2011). His research is focused on performance improvement of zinc oxide metal working nanofluids.

Graduate Researchers

	Natalie Traut, Diploma Student (Winter-Spring 2012) Natalie is pursuing her Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany (exp. 2012). Her diploma thesis research focuses on remanufacturing of wave energy generators, and is being conducted at Oregon State University.
	Gorka Rodrigo Asensio (Oct. 2010 - April 2011) As a research intern, Gorka assisted in performing life cycle assessment of a hypothetical wind park using publicly available data from the Bonneville Power Administration. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, where he is an M.S. student in Industrial Engineering..
	Babak Lajevardi (Spring 2010) Babak assisted in preliminary research of manufacturing systems optimization on the basis of economic and environmental factors. He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in Tehran (1999), an MBA from Royal Roads University in Canada (2007), and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering-Engineering Management from California State University (2009). Babak has research interests in manufacturing process modeling for efficiency, Earned Value Analysis Method (EVAM) in project portfolio management, and system simulation, analysis, and optimization. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at Oregon State in microfluidic device manufacturing (advisor: Dr. B.K. Paul).

Undergraduate Researchers

	Tim Heneveld, URISC:Start Undergraduate Research Assistant (Winter 2012) Tim is pursuing a B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. He is from Salem, OR, where he attended Chemeketa Community College prior to OSU. His interests include improving manufacturability through more sustainable processes.
	Claire Oshatz, Undergraduate Research Assistant (Summer 2011) Claire assisted in research developing a cost modeling tool for microlaminated device manufacturing.
	Steven Hattrup, COE START Undergraduate Research Assistant (Summer 2011) Steven assisted in research investigating the effects of product design variation on manufacturing process and supply chain sustainability.
	Nathan Klammer, Undergraduate Research Assistant (Summer 2011) Nathan assisted in research focused on assessing the performance and toxicological aspects of nanofluids in metal cutting operations. He also assisted on a project investigating environmental impacts of wind energy.
	Misha Sahakian, Research Assistant (Summer 2009) Misha assisted in preliminary research into the use of nanofluids to assist metal cutting, as well as assisting in establishing the new Manufacturing Engineering Educational Laboratory.

Alumni

	Dane Eastlick, M.S. Student (2010-2012) Dane received an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (March 2012). He is from Etna, California and received his B.S. in Materials Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (2007). His research focused on improving sustainability assessment methods for product designers.
	Ahmed Alsaffar, M.S. Student (now with KoCoS) Ahmed completed an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (March 2012). He grew up in Bahrain and received his B.S. in Electrical and Wireless Engineering from Auburn University (2009). His research focused on reducing the coupled manufacturing process and supply chain-related energy use and carbon emissions during product design.
	Misha Sahakian (now at Sandia National Labs) Misha received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in September 2011. He grew up near Salem, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009). His research focused on assessing the machining performance and ecotoxilogical aspects of nanofluids in metal cutting operations.
	Malcolm Brown (now at Intel) Malcolm is received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in June 2011. His research investigated economic and environmental performance of microlaminated devices utilizing nickel nanoparticle diffusion brazing as compared with other processes. He grew up in Foster, Oregon and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University (2009).
	Mary Beth Vanlue (now at Boeing) Mary Beth received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State in December 2010. Her honors thesis developed a method for service-oriented organizations to measure and improve their sustainability. Her research was based on a survey of nonprofit organizations and a project with a local nonprofit.
