Download an example FORTRAN program that demonstrates the use of the de Hoog algorithm for numerically inverting a function from the Laplace domain. You'll also need a makefile if you're working on peridot.
If you do the optional Question 2, you will need this data set published by Grathwohl et al.[1994]. The first column of these data is time [days] and the second column is diffusive flux [micrograms/day].
For the first question, you will be modeling diffusive uptake of mass into a core slab. To do this, you will need two data sets:
These data were collected at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque by Tracy Christian-Frear and Vince Tidwell, who graciously supplied us with the data.
For the second question, you will need the tritium data from July, 1961 to the 1990's for Anchorage. The first column is time in years and the second column is tritium in Bq/L.
The James & Rubin data set is here. There are four columns of data: chloride time, chloride data, calcium time and calcium data. All concentrations are normalized by injection concentration. All time are in seconds.
The
USGS's web site containing most (maybe all?) of their software, including a
directory of all their published analytical solutions for solute transport.
