This just in - your job could be cut

Some sobering news from Oregon State University President Ed Ray today.

"Over the next two years, the budget recommendations will result in the
elimination of 150 to 200 FTE positions in the Education & General
Budget and 75 to 100 FTE positions in the Statewide Public Service
Programs. The university will eliminate an estimated 500 course
sections, and more than 30 academic programs will be restructured,
eliminated, or consolidated with other programs."

While I know that the university is just like other "businesses", when times are tough people lose their jobs, its just difficult to hear since our business is to help educate and further science.

In other news, the new (old) tub is in! We are really enjoying taking all the baths. The shower part is not yet up and won't be until I fix the drywall. But I'm not in too big of a hurry to get the shower part up (don't tell Megan) since I really like waking up with a bath instead of a shower. Although this morning I fell asleep in the water for the first time, Kind of unnerving.
