NairnFEA and NairnMPM and NairnFEAMPMViz (or nairn-mpm-fea project) - Information on obtaining and compiling a cross-platform package for doing finite element analysis and material point method analysis, and for visualization of all results. Instructions for using this package in MacOS X, Windows, or Linux systems are the documentation of the downloaded package.
NairnFEAMPM - For MacOS X, you can download this complete package as a universal binary application including all tools needed to set up finite element and material point method calculations, run them, and visualize the results. You can be running calculations in a few steps. This download, however, does not include any source code. If you want to work with the source code, download the nairn-mpm-fea project and follow the instructions for "Code Engine Development."
If you are limited to Windows or Linux computers, you can also download the nairn-mpm-fea project and use the included Java-based visualization application instead of NairnFEAMPM (although the Java tools have fewer features).
JANFEA - Macintosh-only application for FEA and MPM analysis. This application has been replaced by NairnFEAMPM and only makes sense for use of very old Macs that cannot run NairnFEAMPM. JANFEA is also based on very old source code. All new research is being done in the nairn-mpm-fea project.
