Blog Entries Recent Presentations: Map Cataloging Staff: Online Projects: Downloadable Programs:
  • Ebsco Records Wizard 1.1 Size:about 490 K
The Ebsco Records Wizard is a set of simple vbscripts designed to simplify the Ebsco loading and de-duping process (particulary for III libraries).
  • ILL ASAP Size:553724 bytes (540 KB)
ILL ASAP represents a collaborative project between myself and Kyle Banerjee. This program updates Kyle’s original script-based version, adding a number of features and enhancements to make this program available to a wider audience.
  • MarcEdit 5.0   Size: 7.6 MB
MarcEdit is a free MARC editing software application. It has functions to "Make" and "Break" MARC as well as crosswalks to convert MARC to XML and Dublin Core. It is a robust application that has its own plugin language and COM based components, so users can customize the application to meet their MARC needs.
  • Other Programs: Basically, this is a hodgepodge of applications or libraries that I thought might be useful.  Right now, this is very small (microscopic), but I will add to it as I find the time.
  • (RDM) Reference Desk Manager: The reference desk manager is basically a proof of concept program. It is based on a PHP-based application that I developed for use by our Library's Reference Staff. The application basically allows libraries to allow their service staff to access information at a central location. There are many programs around that will do likewise (Slashdot jumps to mind), but the RDM is the first to be developed with the Libraries staff and needs in mind.
  • .NET OAI Harvester: The .NET OAI Harvester is an OAI Harvester written in C# that can be used with ASP, ASP.NET or as a component with a client-side application. The component was developed for a project here at Oregon State University and has been released under the GPL. The source files are being stored and maintained on SourceForge, and documentation can be located here: http://oregonstate.edu/~reeset/oai/doc/
  • CONTENTdm Development Area:  CONTENTdm scripts/documentation: Oregon State University has been actively utilizing CONTENTdm as a content management system for approximately 2 years now, and over the course of that time, I've developed a number of scripts/documentation files to extend CONTENTdm's current functionality. I'm not quite sure how much of this will be useful or of interest to other CONTENTdm libraries, but as they say, "what's mine is yours" -- so feel free to use anything that you might find interesting.
