CLASSES

The SpringTerm 2017 class that I am teaching:

  • Mathematics 649 (Stag Hall 111: M, W, F at 14:00):  Topics: Fuchsian groups

  • My  office hours for spring quarter 2017 are:

                 M 13-13:50; W, F 12:30-13:20, F in MSLC

                     and   by appointment.

I am a number theorist with interests in continued fractions over number fields, especially
in connection with Fuchsian groups and/or to the dynamics
of translation surfaces and billiards.

In the late 1990s, I assisted engineers at OSU interested in
Elliptic curve encryption; this application
exploits the group structure of elliptic curves defined over finite fields.

A formative experience for me was teaching mathematics in a high school in Togo,
as a Peace Corps volunteer.
