Antimicrobial
A microbe is any living thing too small to be seen without a microscope, such as bacteria, certain fungi, or George W.'s intellect. The word is often used to specifically refer to critters that cause disease, even though most of these species do not. An antimicrobial substance is something that kills microbes.
